The book
Bihar’s food is three cuisines wearing one name — and this book gives each its due.
The brief
Swad Bihar Ka covers the food and savoury recipes of Bihar — how they are made and where they come from — going into the intricacies rather than staying with the dishes people already know. The cooking of Magadh, Mithila and Bhojpur differs enough that a dish will change name, method and occasion across a few hundred kilometres; the sweets are tied to particular towns — khaja from Silao, tilkut from Gaya, the laddus of Maner — and Chhath shapes the whole calendar, its strict rules of purity part of why so many recipes survived in fixed form.
Where it's going
Developed in collaboration with Jagran Prakashan, and set for release across all the major outlets — a book built to be gifted, not shelved.
